DNA Group Meeting

  • April 20, 2017
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • LDS Church, 220 North San Pedro Rd., San Rafael

The next meeting will be on April 20, 2017 at 7 pm at the LDS Church.

We will have a Q & A session in the first part of the meeting, then Nancy Evans will give a talk on

"Tips and Techniques to Organize DNA Matches".

Your DNA matches share a common ancestor with you. Using the tools provided by the testing companies and Gedmatch, you can organize your DNA matches into related groups based on the shared matches found at Ancestry and the 'in common with' matches from FamilyTree DNA.

The focus will be on creating working tables to organize your shared matches into related groups. Developing these tables will organize your research and will help you to see connections between your shared matches. Several case studies will be used to show how grouping your matches can result in successfully identifying your relationship to your DNA matches.

For more information on a variety of DNA topics see the DNA Group page.

Please contact Vernon Smith to suggest a topic for this Workshop.

We meet each month to discuss all aspects of Genetic Genealogy, and to provide a forum for discussion as well as time for answering any related questions.
