MCGS General Meeting

  • April 27, 2011
  • 7:00 PM - 9:59 PM
  • Marin Family History Center, 220 North San Pedro Rd., San Rafael

Presentation:  UNCLUTTER - START TODAY by CATH MADDEN TRINDLE, CG

Cath Madden Trindle is an excellent Genealogist, a Certified Genealogist, a retired business consultant, and in addition to working as a pro she gives back to the genealogical community as the treasurer of the Federation of Genealogical Societies and the Projects Chair for the California State Genealogical Alliance…among other things.

Do you think she could do all this if she was not highly organized?  I think not!

In April she will share some of her favorite ideas with us so we can unclutter, organize our minds as well as our offices, and our genealogies.  She will discuss various filing methods (she says there is no right way and no wrong way to organize). An organized genealogy will be a KEPT genealogy.  Organization includes paper, memorabilia, and computer information…photos….documents and more. Her hand-out will give you websites to further help you, and a bibliography to keep you moving in the right direction. Cath Trindle has spoken to MCGS many times and has always been well received.

This is also our annual meeting, to elect officers.

About our Meetings:

The Genealogical Society General meetings are open to the public, with no admission fee. Feel free to drop in! Bring your friends as everyone is welcome. Come early and ask your burning genealogical questions of other members before the meeting.

We meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month, with a couple of exceptions. November's meeting is held on the 3rd Wednesday, due to Thanksgiving. There is no general meeting in May, due to our Annual Picnic, nor in December, due to the holidays and our Winter Holiday Party.

Annually, several of our regularly scheduled meetings have a certain focus: April, we hold our Annual General Meeting and Elections (but there's usually a presentation also); May of each year we hold an Anniversary Celebration or Annual Picnic; and in September, we have a workshop.
